Hosting : The Importance to Affiliate MaketingHosting is one of the, if not the most important part of online marketing. This is not often thought about as being an important part of the affiliate marketing channel, but rather a afterthought of when should I put the site. People just start looking for the best deals. Finding the best deals isn't always about the price. The best deal should consider the cost and the benefits. Just think if you have a site that is making $20 a day and that site is hosted with joes-hosting.com for the cost of $60 a year with all the Space and bandwidth you need. Sounds like a great deal, huh? It is great until the site goes down, gets a case of the technology hic-ups, and when you go to call customer service you find out that the number has been disconnected. UGH!!! ACK!, %#@! Now that great deal just went in the crapper. Seriously, this kind of problem happens all the time to affiliates. So what to do about the hosting problem. 1) Aways go reliable. Take a look at not only the price and plans offered by the hosting company you are considering, but also the reputation that they have build up over time. 2) Picking more than one hosting account. With hosting prices being as inexpensive as they are you can and should have have several hosting accounts located around various parts of the country and supported by a large "backbone" of servers. Think of Florida and the hurricanes, California with its earthquakes, the north-east freezing winters, etc. Natural disasters are going to strike. You should be prepared. Even if your only making 10 dollars a day that is one week of profits to pay for a whole year of hosting. If you site goes down and you can not get it back up quickly, meaning within a few hours or at max 24 hours, that is not cost effective anymore. the great deal is now SUCKING! All this over a few bucks you knew you were going to make back in a few days. 3) Reseller account or Add-on domains. I advocate the reseller position and not the domain add-on approach. Reseller accounts allow for more flexibility and growth downline, in my opinion. I have heard arguments on both side of this and let's just say that you will have do a little research on your own and come to a decision that best suits both your needs now and takes your growth into account. Now armed with a little more common sense that you might have previous possessed take the advice above and put it to use. Here are some resources that should help you out. And the two companies that I personally endorse and am affiliated with: HostGator .
